eCaseLink Unified Platform Used to Streamline At-Home Infused Patient Decentralized Trial
MALVERN, Pa., April, 2022 – DSG, Inc., a global leader of eClinical software solutions and services for the life sciences industry has successfully supported a remote at-home infused patient decentralized trial for cancer patients who are unable to visit infusion centers or traditional clinical trial sites.
Understanding the urgent nature and the challenges faced by physicians looking for options to treat home-bound cancer patients, DSG worked in unison with physicians to complete a full study design in a matter of days. Both teams leveraged their combined knowledge and experience to collaborate and identify the most effective way to get the study up and running as quickly as possible. The study included home-bound cancer patients, dispersed throughout the U.S., who received daily in-home oncology treatment infusions, along with study IP through home-pumps. Patients were unable to visit an infusion center or a traditional clinical trial site. DSG collaborated with a centrally-located writing physician and leveraged Home Health nurses who visited patients to collect data, blood samples, and facilitate home pump functions.
DSG’s decentralized trial unified platform, eCaseLink, provided a seamless workflow for each stakeholder. Doctors and nurses were able to log into the platform using remote wearable devices to communicate patient status and updates. DSG’s team used an agile approach to accelerate the clinical study implementation by leveraging eCaselink's configuration efficiencies with exceptional responsiveness and flexibility. The sponsor operations team provided inputs on the study challenges and collaborated with DSG’s team in crafting optimal solutions to build the ideal system in a very short amount of time and within budget.
